Sorcerer essays Many authors write childrens books, but few make these books into multi-million dollar movies. J.K. Rowling was one of the few, lucky authors that got the chance to make her book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone into a Hollywood production. With all the detail and excitement on every page, the Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (4, J.K. Rowling) book was better than the movie version. Books leave a lot to a persons imagination. Imagination is something few children know how to use because of their lack of reading, and all the movies they watch instead. With a movie like Harry Potter there is little left to the viewers imagination. A lot was left out of the movie due to lack of time. Therefore, the movie was quite useless in telling the wonderful story, resulting in a complete disappointment for the audience. This movie was a really big let down for all those Harry Potter fans. When it comes to turning a book into a movie many producers and directors have to leave out parts of the story because of the lack of time. This is somewhat understandable. However, this editing process results in some confusion for the viewer who may not have read the book. If someone has not read the Harry Potter books then it makes watching the movies difficult. The movie version has a way of just throwing everything together without any background information. Most of the people who watched this movie are children, so that makes it even harder for them to comprehend. Therefore, this causes the viewer to not know what is going on. In the book the term Muggle (which means non-magical person) is explained, but in the movie many people, not having read the book, were clueless as to what that term meant.
